About the DWS Internship
The DWS Internship offers a unique and exciting opportunity to gain a wide range of practical experiences through individual projects, speaker sessions and networking events. About the Investment Guideline Management (IGM) Team
DWS Investment Guideline Management (IGM) is an independent, global, first line of defense control function focused on post-event detection. The team ensures portfolios of various legal entities are managed in compliance with laws and regulations, client requirements and guidelines, including fund disclosure documents. Furthermore, the team ensures that the relevant parties are contacted, and breaches are closed in a timely manner. Following sub teams are based in Berlin:
- IGM Advisory & Capturing
The team is responsible for the identification and structuring of the required investment guidelines - IGM Monitoring
The team is responsible for the post-trade/overnight identification of breaches against the investment guidelines and manages subsequent compensation processes - IGM Change & Initiatives
The team is responsible for projects throughout the entire IGM value chain - IGM Implementation
The team is responsible for the technical implmentation of contractual, regulatory and broker restrictions into Aladdin.
As our DWS Intern, you will:
- Support IGM processes and day-to-day activities related to capturing, implementing and monitoring investment guidelines
- Support the implementation of tools/applications to enhance efficiency and improve oversight to the IGM processes
- Assist with projects in relation to improving business processes and/or communication with other stakeholders, including custodians and auditors
- Contribute to improving tools, by translating (non-technical) user requirements into codified solutions

Candidates should be from:
Description of Ideal Candidate
The Team is looking for:
- Intermediate (B2) German and advanced English language skills
- Experience using MS Access, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft SharePoint Online
- Basic proficiency in VBA or python code beneficial but not required
- Knowledge of financial products and asset manager is beneficial but not required
