Overview
We are pleased to announce that the 6th International Congress on Economics, Finance & Energy (EFE’2024) titled "Economic Resilience for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth in the Multi-Crises Era" will be held in June 27-29, 2024 in Nakhchivan.
Details
Today, we have witnessed many crises caused by economic and/or non-economic shocks in the global economy: Covid-19 pandemic, post-Covid supply disruption and the subsequent surges in commodity prices, deepening income inequality, economic stagnation, disruptions in global trade and supply chains, threats of worldwar three, migration, food security, energy security, climate change (droughts, floods, megastorms and wildfires), - the multi-crisis.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, self-sufficiency concerns have increased in many countries. These concerns led to results such as limiting exports and shrinking world trade in a crisis environment. Besides, Russia's invasion of Ukraine and Israel's invasion of Palestine caused geopolitics to come to the fore again in the global political economy. Most countries around the world implemented active monetary and fiscal policies but lower-income economies had far less fiscal space to do so and these countries were less able to mitigate increases in poverty and hunger. Since then, growing public debt has been shrinking their abilities to absorb external shocks further. Many developing countries suffered from high consumer prices, foreign exchange shocks (appreciation of the US dollar particularly) and high debt levels.
These issues have taken center stage and have become a priority and will be the focus of the debates in the international and regional fora. EFE’2024 Congress aims to establish a platform for scholars and experts to share their experiences and knowledge, to participate in the global discourse on resilience and the discussion of policy options and coping strategies for developing countries in the face of these challenges.
