Details

Interns have opportunities to spearhead essential projects for the organization, network with colleagues and board members, build nonprofit experience, and gain relevant skills. Interns will either serve as senior management interns, nonprofit management interns, and international development interns.

This is an exciting opportunity for students who are looking to contribute to an important mission and learn about a growing nonprofit. As a global organization, interns will be able to meet other interns and colleagues from across the United States and around the world.  We welcome new interns every fall, spring, and summer!

Internship Program Summary

  • The Internship Program aligns with the academic calendar year beginning September, January, or May/June for a preferred period of at least 5 months; with the ability to extend as appropriate
  • Interns are expected to work remotely between 10-12 hours per week
  • This internship is 100% virtual
  • We have two categories of internships available: International Development and Nonprofit Management

International Development Intern

We are seeking hard-working individuals to impact the progression of a small but dynamic nonprofit organization that provides scholarship opportunities to women across the globe in pursuit of higher education. This internship is a great stepping stone for students and early career professionals to establish themselves in the nonprofit sector, learn how a nonprofit operates, and gain project management skills. By working with the Asherah Foundation, you will gain relevant skills and experience in international nonprofit development and exposure to leaders in the field. International Development interns will work alongside other interns on projects assigned by NonProfit Management Interns and Executive Board Members. This is an ideal role for an individual who would like to gain concrete experience developing and executing projects for a nonprofit but prefer a more flexible time commitment.

NonProfit Management Intern

This is a "hands-on" internship for a hard-working individual eager to learn nonprofit methodology and leadership experience. The NonProfit Management Intern will work closely with the Executive Director and other staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of a quickly-growing global nonprofit organization. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is self-directed, responsible, interested in management and demonstrates a strong interest in community building and education advocacy for women around the world. NonProfit Management interns will take on a more involved leadership role and will co-lead one of four committees. In this role, NonProfit Management Interns will directly supervise the work of International Development Interns and report to the Executive Director.

Senior Management

This is a "hands-on" internship for those eager to refine management skills while gaining experience with strategic international leadership. This internship provides opportunities to work closely with senior leadership around the world.
