Job description

Barilla G. e R. Fratelli is looking for a Supplier Quality Digitalization Intern for the Cremona plant.

Working context

The Global Supplier Quality Management unit is in charge of ensuring that suppliers of direct materials meet Barilla requirements for Quality and Food Safety. 

Job Purpose

The Company is undergoing a major Digital Transformation, with two main objectives:

  1. to streamline the exchange of allergen information between raw material suppliers and the internal system, ensuring food safety and accurate labeling;
  2. to digitalize the manual verification of supplier documentation for each raw material and packaging delivery through AI.

The project aims to enhance process quality, reduce errors, and free up time for QC teams. 

Main activities

The intern will be involved in the following activities:

  • Supporting the design and implementation of a smart system for document verification and data extraction, in collaboration with IT, suppliers, and potential software providers;
  • Standardizing and reorganizing existing documentation and data sources to align with current procedures and enable future use by AI;
  • Assisting with supplier onboarding and training on the new system;
  • Participating in daily activities of the Digital Transformation project, including meetings and pilot testing;
  • Helping resolve operational issues and supporting user training (internal teams and suppliers).

Description of Ideal Candidate

Requirements

  • Master’s students in Food Science, Biology, or Engineering;
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written;
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft 365;
  • Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft APP and/or Power BI will be considered a plus; 
  • Problem solving, passion for Digital Tools and agile in creating a Network.
