Your function

EGI wishes to reinforce its team working on Smart Demand Flexibility to support end-consumers (industrials, companies, households) in making best use of their flexible assets, reducing their electricity costs, and supporting the energy transition. You will support our team in developing price forecast for different market horizons (DA, ID, balancing etc.) to incentivize customers to charge their flexible appliances (batteries, EVs, Heat pumps etc.) when surplus of variable renewables sources arise, and prices are low or negatives.

Typical activities involve (but are not limited to):

  • Conduct research and analysis on energy market trends and dynamics.
  • Develop and implement models for price forecasting using Python.
  • Model the behaviour and optimization of flexible electricity assets (batteries, EVs, heat pumps) based on historical price data and our proprietary forecasts.
  • Collaborate with the team to integrate research findings and models into our product offerings.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in energy markets and data modeling techniques.

Your profile

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree and/or PHD candidate 
  • Good understanding and interest in power markets and the energy transition;
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with data modelling and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
