The Eurosystem Procurement Coordination Office (EPCO) is an office created by the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) in 2008 and hosted by the Banque centrale du Luxembourg. The EPCO Office is in charge of coordinating public procurement procedures with the central banks of the European Union, as well as with other national, European and international organisations.

In this context, to further support its activities, the EPCO Office is seeking a highly motivated Procurement / Analyst trainee to join our team for a 6-month internship. In this role, you will support the analysis and realisation of our procurement, contractual management and Study/Analysis activities, help increase EPCO's productivity, and contribute to various internal projects.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support in various market researches in the Market, Financial, News & Intelligence Data field;
  • Assist in the analysis of the needs of the EPCO Stakeholders;
  • Contribute to different reporting linked to the category (dashboards, savings, annual reports, presentations, …);
  • Participate to the creation of negotiation strategies and observe negotiation meetings;
  • Contribute to the legal review and contract drafting process;
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop awareness, communication and best practices materials in English and, subject to capacities, in other EU languages;
  • Support the team in the preparation of events, such as conferences, expert meetings and trainings;
  • Provide general support to the team in daily tasks (internal communication, preparation of materials, documents).

Description of Ideal Candidate

This is what we are looking forward to:

  • You are currently in the final stage (Bac+4, Bac+5) of a Master’s degree in Procurement, or Logistics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (internship agreement required);
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Good command of French will be considered an asset. Any other languages will also be valued;
  • First professional experience in the domain will be considered an asset;
  • Excellent analytical skills;
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Microsoft Excel & Microsoft PowerPoint);
  • Capacity to analyse contractual related documents and their jargon;
  • Combine curiosity, strong creativity, proactive mindset, flexibility, rigour and eye to detail;
  • Have an interest and understanding on EU affairs and appetite to contribute to public organisations’ missions;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
  • Strong sense of confidentiality;
  • Commitment to the values and goals of the public sector.
