Details
In 2026, the Free Market Road Show marks a historic milestone: the 20th anniversary. Since its inception in 2007 across four cities, the Road Show has grown into a global brand, having hosted 501 events in 104 cities over the last 19 years.
This year is not only the FMRS anniversary, but it is a “Year of Anniversaries of Ideas”. As we hit the road for the twentieth time, we also commemorate 250 years of The Wealth of Nations, 250 years of American Independence, and 66 years of The Constitution of Liberty. It is a fitting occasion to dedicate the FMRS 2026 to exploring the vital intersection of constitution, law, and economics from multiple perspectives.
True to the tradition of the Austrian School, we continue to champion voluntary cooperation and the exchange of ideas. We invite audiences in around 40 cities worldwide to discuss how market-based solutions can address the challenges of the 21st century.
This year’s topics include:
- The Next Revolution Won’t Be Televised, It Will Be Decentralized: A look at how the next great political shift will stem from technology and entrepreneurship rather than parliaments. We will discuss how innovations like Bitcoin and 3D printing serve as revolutionary forces against centralized control.
- The Constitution of Capitalism: A deep dive into the intersection of law, society, and economy. This theme reflects on how modern regulations and tax systems shape freedom, exploring the “revolt by innovation” through philosophical and sociological lenses.
- Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Exit: Revisiting the aspirations of those who sought independence 250 years ago. We will compare the U.S. Constitution with European governance, reflect on societal transformations since 2000, and debate growing central-planning approaches to economic challenges.
Join us as we bring the ideas of liberty to every host city, sharing knowledge cultivated over centuries and inviting every visitor to experience the “living tradition” of liberty firsthand.
Join us on this intellectual journey to celebrate Hayek’s contributions to economic thought and explore how his insights can guide us toward a freer, more prosperous future. Engage in discussions that transcend traditional academic boundaries, challenge conventional wisdom, and inspire change.
- Dynamic discussions: Be part of lively debates and talks on pressing issues such as digital transformation, economic policies, environmental sustainability, and the evolving global landscape.
- Networking Opportunities: Rub shoulders with renowned scholars, business and industry professionals, and people from diverse backgrounds. Build your network, share ideas, and find mentors.
- Interactive Sessions: Participate in workshops, panel discussions, and Q&A sessions with representatives of a broad spectrum of expertise and backgrounds. Share your opinion, and also learn from the experiences of others.
