Overview
Students and young B.A. Graduates have the opportunity to complete an internship in the Washington office of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.
Details
We would like to point out the following points that are required for an internship and must be taken into account:
- Professional fluency in German and English
- Subject-specific studies with a completed basic degree or at least five semesters of B.A. Studies.
- Advanced knowledge of social media, which makes it possible to manage the media presence of FES DC
- Once approved, applicants contact Cultural Vistas, a US non-profit organization that can help with obtaining the visa.
- Once approved, applicants also contact GIZ, which also awards scholarships to cover visa and travel costs.
- In principle, the FES does not cover any costs and does not pay any remuneration for the internship.
- The FES assumes no liability for any accidents or damage in connection with the internship.
- The applicants are responsible for taking out the necessary insurance (e.g., international health insurance, liability insurance and possibly accident insurance).

Application deadlines

- There are no internships available in July and August.
- Applicants will be informed of their selection decision by the end of the month following the application deadline in which they applied.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Ugandan citizenship or proof of residency for non-citizens.
- Aged between 18 and 30 years.
- Have a minimum of “A” level education.
- Have proven commitment to public affairs, community involvement or advocacy.

Cost/funding for participants
Successful candidates are expected to attend all the training sessions. After successful participation in the programme, participants will receive a certificate of attendance. Women and PWDs are strongly encouraged to apply.
