Overview

The Georg Eckert Institute conducts applied and multidisciplinary research into textbooks and educational media related to textbooks, informed primarily by history and cultural studies. It also provides advisory services to national and international education policymakers and practitioners, and acts as a coordinator and mediator in international issues and projects related to textbooks.

Details

If you are a student or recent graduate, you may be interested in applying for an internship at the Georg Eckert Institute. The duration of an internship can be arranged to suit the intern’s requirements, but should not be less than one month. As an intern, you will receive a work schedule which will offer you the opportunity to become familiar with both the research which takes place at the institute and the work of the library. You will be expected to attend and/or take part in the preparation of conferences, workshops and similar events that take place during your stay at the institute.

Research at the Georg Eckert Institute focuses on key thematic fields, each of which is divided into smaller sub-fields (details of these can be found on the website). If you wish, you may indicate in your application the precise field or sub-field in which you would like to work. This will mean you will not get to know the entire range of work at the institute, but you will benefit from the opportunity of working in-depth on a project related directly to your own interests.

If you own your own laptop, it would be useful to bring it along in order to help us to set up a workstation for you.

We regret that we are unable to return any application documents sent to us by post. We prefer to receive applications by email.
