Overview

Harvard World Model United Nations (WorldMUN) travels to a dierent city every year, with the goal of fostering authentic cross-cultural connections. Our conferences are guided by the ‘WorldMUN spirit,’ a principle that encourages friendship and cooperation across borders, along with a deeper understanding of cultures and perspectives beyond one’s own. As the world’s most diverse collegiate model UN conference, past WorldMUN destinations have included Rome (2016), Montreal (2017), Panama City (2018), Madrid (2019), Taipei (2024), and Manila (2025), with addresses from Pope Francis (2016) and King Felipe VI of Spain (2019). The 34th iteration of WorldMUN will take place in Lima, Peru, in conjunction with Peruvian Universities, intercollegiate MUN team..

Building on the success of our conferences in Taipei and Manila, we are proud to announce WorldMUN 2026, our third conference since the pandemic lockdown. Our leadership team consists of nine Secretariat members, all of whom bring extensive experience organizing Harvard-aliated Model UN conferences. With a strong foundation in diplomacy, logistics, and academic programming, the Secretariat is committed to delivering a world-class conference in Lima. Supporting their vision are ten committee chairs, who bring diverse academic and regional expertise. This year’s committees explore a wide range of urgent global and historical issues, from urban equity and global food security to the 1918 inuenza pandemic and nuclear diplomacy.

Looking ahead, WorldMUN 2026 marks our long-awaited return to South America—our rst since Belo Horizonte, Brazil, in 2002. As the global community continues to navigate complex, interconnected challenges, this moment oers an opportunity to reengage with a vital region rich in history, culture, and international inuence. We hope this conference in Lima will not only celebrate cross-cultural exchange but also strengthen the spirit of global collaboration that denes the WorldMUN experience.

We look forward to welcoming you to Lima in March 2026.

Cost/funding for participants

Fees

As a student-run organization that receives no funding from Harvard University, WorldMUN relies on delegate fees for its operating costs (e.g., venue rentals, A/V and conferencing services, opening and closing ceremonies, conference materials, chair training procedures).

We do not require delegations to have faculty advisors. We also do not have a minimum or maximum delegation size; delegations may have more delegates than the number of committees.

Delegates that submit information after the February 25 deadline will incur a $7 inconvenience fee, since our partners must reprint the badges and placards.
