Overview

At the Inter-American Development Bank, we're devoted to improving lives. Since 1959, we've been a leading source of long-term financing for economic, social, and institutional development in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Details

We do more than lending though. We partner with our 48 member countries to provide Latin America and the Caribbean with cutting-edge research about relevant development issues, policy advice to inform their decisions, and technical assistance to improve on the planning and execution of projects. For this, we need people who not only have the right skills, but also are passionate about improving lives.

Take those big steps to shape your career for years ahead with us!

We offer programs for students and recent graduates to catalyze their career interests by immersing themselves in a hands-on working experience while being exposed to our organization’s culture, teams, and projects in the countries we serve.

Internship Program

Our paid internships provide opportunities at the IDB, IDB Invest , and IDB Lab. Positions are available in our headquarters in Washington, D.C., our offices throughout Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia, and Europe, and at the Institute for the Integration of Latin America and the Caribbean (INTAL) in Argentina.

You'll be working in a hybrid modality with our teams  during  this program.  Our hybrid modality is a mix of in-person attendance at our offices and teleworking.

Internships at our headquarters

During two months of hands-on experience, you will be part of teams providing operating and corporate solutions to clients from the public and private sectors.

This program is offered twice a year: January 16th to March 15th (Winter) and June 16th to August 15th (Summer). Each competitive process begins approximately three months in advance.  Please check our timeline for updates.
