Overview

We are pleased to announce the 9th IYCE will be held in Colmar (France) in 2024. Moving forward from the pandemic we are finally able to return to a biannual schedule and we are eager to organize the next installment of the event. Young professionals (undergraduate, MSc, PhD students and entrant engineers) are encouraged to participate and present their work in a friendly international environment, to enjoy the beauty of Colmar and to make new connections for the future. Contributions are welcomed from any field related to energy and power engineering. Final papers will be published in IEEE Xplore. IYCE is a Student-led Technical Conference, member of the IEEE IAS YP Student-led Conferences.

Details

Young professionals (undergraduate, MSc, PhD students and entrant engineers) are encouraged to participate and present their work in a friendly international environment, to enjoy the beauty of Eger and to make new connections for the future. Contributions are welcomed from any field related to energy and power engineering. Accepted papers will be submitted for inclusion into IEEE Xplore subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scope and quality requirements. IYCE is a Student-led Technical Conference, member of the IEEE IAS YP Student-led Conferences.

VENUE

France, officially the French Republic is a country located primarily in Western Europe.It also includes overseas regions and territories in the Americas and the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans, giving it one of the largest discontiguous exclusive economic zones in the world. Its eighteen integral regions span a combined area of 643,801 square kilometers situated in Western Europe. It is bordered by the North Sea in the north, the English Channel in the northwest, the Atlantic Ocean in the west and the Mediterranean sea in the southeast. Its land borders consist of Belgium and Luxembourg in the northeast, Germany and Switzerland in the east, Italy and Monaco in the southeast, and Andorra and Spain in the south and southwest.  With about 68 million inhabitants, France is one of the biggest state of the European Union. France is a unitary semi-presidential republic, and its capital is Paris. The official language is French, which is one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. 

France is undoubtedly one of the world’s most favorite tourist destinations. French culture, music, art, architecture, gastronomy and natural spectacles attract millions of visitors every year. 

Metropolitan France has a wide variety of topographical sets and natural landscapes. From the highest mountain peak in Western Europe to the famous French Riviera there are numerous gems waiting to be discovered. The country has an extensive river system with four major rivers: the Seine, the Loire, the Garonne and the Rhone. France has historically been one of the world's major agricultural centers and remains the same nowadays. It is the world’s second-largest wine producer, with many varieties enjoying global renown such as Champagne and Bordeaux. 

The country is honored to have 49 sites recognised by UNESCO as being worthy of protection and conservation as part of the World Heritage. 42 of them are cultural properties, 6 are natural properties and one is mixed.

  • Young professionals (undergraduates, MSc, Ph.D. students, and entrant engineers) are encouraged to participate and present their work.
  • Contributions are welcomed from any field related to energy and power engineering. 
  • Maximum two papers are accepted for one participant. The maximum length of abstracts is 500 words. No unique template is neccessary for submission.
