Overview
MING Labs is looking for creative and self-motivated interns to join our international team in our Shanghai studio. As our new business design intern you'll be treated as full-time employees and you'll work together with our multidisciplinary teams in different projects.
Details
Here’s a glimpse of what you’ll be doing:
- Support with desk research, qualitative and quantitative research studies and help synthesising the output into personas, customer journeys, insight-opportunity frameworks, value propositions, scenarios, etc. in order to identify or validate products/services opportunities.
- Support trend analysis and competitor research in order to unlock business opportunities, develop relevant concepts, models and organizational frameworks to support our clients and drive innovation and business growth.
- Support the design and testing of new products, services, or consumer experience.
- Support with the translation of all the research activities and business analysis into a final deliverable.
- Support with planning, preparation and facilitation of workshops.

Description of Ideal Candidate
What we are looking for
- You are a passionate, detail oriented, self motivated and proactive business designer who enjoys either working in a team or independently in a variety of projects.
- You are a graduate of a relevant business/strategic/service design Bachelor/Master’s program or/and you have a strong portfolio and experience.
- You have knowledge and ideally, an understanding and familiarity with working with business/service design principles and skills including challenge framing, research, ideation, qualitative interviews and synthesizing into personas and journeys.
- You have very good analytical skills. Good with induction and deduction.
- You are passionate about user-centered design particularly as applied to web-based applications and consumer electronics.
- You are proficient in English. Chinese is a plus.
- You are passionate about creating services that resonate emotionally with people.
- You have great communication skills and feel comfortable working closely with different external and internal stakeholders.
- You are comfortable and are familiar with office software for business analysis, proposals, and reporting. For reference we use: Miro, Keynote, Excel, etc.

The internships at MING Labs are paid and 6 months in duration in which time you'll have the opportunity to learn from more experienced designers and enhance your design skills.
