Overview

This role will be part of the Corporate Functions Tower for Group Technology ( IT1.12), which oversees IT service delivery and manages key relationships across all corporate and central units, including Finance, HR, Legal & Compliance, Services/Facilities, and Procurement. The IT Section Reinsurance Finance Systems delivers business value through the management of IT products including execution of change projects for all Finance departments of Munich RE’s Reinsurance Divisions worldwide.

Your tasks

  • Support governance related activities across projects and products, including the preparation, structuring, and maintenance of documentation required for transparency, traceability, and informed decision making.
  • Document internal project processes, workflows, and responsibilities, ensuring that key decisions, dependencies, and escalation paths are clearly captured and consistently maintained. 
  • Create and maintain clear documentation artifacts such as process descriptions, governance overviews, decision logs, and status summaries.
  • Collect, consolidate, and organize inputs from different stakeholders and systems to support governance reviews, expert assessments, and management discussions. 
  • Prepare structured decision templates and briefing documents outlining problem statements, options, implications, and recommendations. 
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, product owners, and governance functions to ensure alignment between project execution, documentation, and governance requirements. 
  • Support coordination activities by organizing meetings, preparing agendas, documenting outcomes, and tracking follow up actions where required. 
  • Create concise PowerPoint presentations and written summaries to communicate findings, decisions, and recommendations to expert audiences and management. 
  • Perform other duties as required to support overall team and project objectives.

About you

  • You are a pre-master’s or master’s student in business administration, business informatics, information systems or a comparable field with a strong interest in governance and structured work. 
  • You have a high level of English proficiency; German language skills are a strong plus. 
  • You enjoy working in an analytical manner and are able to understand complex topics and translate them into clear, well structured documentation. 
  • You have strong written communication skills and are comfortable preparing decision documents, summaries, and presentations for expert and management audiences.
  • You are confident using standard M365 tools such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and SharePoint; experience with project or documentation tools is a plus. 
  • You are reliable, detail oriented, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with different stakeholders. 
  • Prior exposure to project management, governance, compliance, or regulated environments is beneficial but not required.
  • You are available for a full time internship (typically 6 months) and are willing to work on site in Munich for the duration of the internship
