Overview

OMA’ s Rotterdam office has an opening for an Archive & Collection Intern, who will gain overview and working knowledge of the infrastructure and day-to-day running of the archive and collection in a leading creative office. Currently the Archive & Collection department consists of an experienced Collection Manager.

Details

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the team with archiving past and current works of OMA;
  • Archiving digital and non-digital materials for research and future projects;
  • Handling physical models/mock-ups of architecture projects for the archive collection;
  • Coordinating with other departments, such as Facility and Architecture, to secure the smooth archiving of architectural materials;
  • Working on ad-hoc tasks, such as exhibitions, research, communication with international art institutions and publications.

Description of Ideal Candidate

Requirements:

  • Currently completing Bachelor or Master degree in art history or architecture history, collection management, museum studies or other relevant studies;
  • High proficiency in MS Office software;
  • Fluency in English is a must;
  • Any other language is a plus, such as Dutch;
  • Experience with digital archiving and/or handling physical models;
  • Have hands-on approach;
  • Accurate and detail-oriented;
  • Valid driving license is a plus;
  • EU work permit is preferred;
  • Confident in an international and complex environment.

Cost/funding for participants

The internship is offered for 5 days/week, and the standard duration of internship is 6 months. The intern will receive a monthly stipend.

The selected candidate is expected to start the internship as soon as possible.
