Overview
The AFS Award for Young Global Citizens recognizes young people for their commitment to improving the global community and whose actions contribute to a more just, peaceful, and tolerant world.
Details
After a rigorous selection process, up to three (3) Outstanding Youth Delegates will be identified out of over 700 youth from 100 countries and will be awarded at the Closing session.
The application questionnaire Delegates complete at the time of applying will be used to assess their candidacy for the Outstanding Youth Delegate Award. No additional applications need to be submitted.
IMPORTANT: Applicants must have registered and been accepted as a delegate before the award deadline of June 14, 2024.

The Youth Assembly aims to empower the next generation of leaders with opportunities to connect with like-minded peers, trailblazers, and influencers, develop global competence and critical skills, and transform their vision for a better future through innovative action.

Description of Ideal Candidate
The Award will be awarded to a Youth Assembly delegate who:
- Demonstrates how their project is successfully addressing a pressing global issue, tackling one or more of the challenges outlined by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and what this translates into in real-life impacts.
- Shows how their project successfully engages others outside their own community/culture and how this aspect is crucial to advancing their work. Projects must rely on intercultural understanding and global competence.
- Articulates how their initiative has significant potential to be scaled up and extended.

The winner will receive $10,000, and two additional $2,500 prizes will be awarded to the runners up.
