In your role as a trainee in the ECB Visitor Centre team, you will be part of the wider Visits, Enquiries and Protocol team, which comprises 15 members of staff responsible for:
- handling enquiries from citizens concerning publicly available information about the ECB's tasks and functions;
- managing and hosting tours of the ECB Visitor Centre and providing both onsite and virtual lectures for groups, facilitating information exchange and creating a dialogue with citizens;
- building, fostering and strengthening local engagement by connecting with the wider public and influential actors in Frankfurt and the Rhine-Main region;
- organising high-level visits/meetings and providing protocol advice.
You will work closely with other teams in the Directorate General Communications and other areas of the ECB as well as with external stakeholders, including universities and other EU institutions. You will also interact with the general public and work closely with the creative agency used by the Visitor Centre.

Your role
As a trainee in the ECB Visitor Centre team you will:
- help to plan and coordinate the activities of the ECB Visitor Centre, including Visitor Centre tours, lectures and tours of the main building (both onsite and virtually);
- conduct guided tours of the ECB Visitor Centre and explain the tasks and functions of the ECB to visitor groups from all over the world;
- support the Visits, Enquiries and Protocol team in various outreach activities, such as the Europa Open Air concert, Europe Day and Night of the Museums;
- support the team in updating content and revamping the Visitor Centre;
- contribute to flagging and analysing issues raised by the public during visits and lectures.

Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- a bachelor's degree or higher in communications, economics, international relations, business administration, political science, public relations or a similar field;
- a strong interest in, and understanding of, the ECB’s mission, combined with the ability to explain complex topics in clear language;
- experience in public speaking and confidence to communicate effectively in front of diverse audiences;
- a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office package;
- an advanced (C1) command of both English and German, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Desired:
- an advanced (C1) command of another EU language, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
You are curious and eager to learn, and want to further develop your ability to analyse complex information. You are keen to collaborate with others, pursue team goals and learn from other people’s diverse perspectives.
