Overview
The European Union Intellectual property Office (EUIPO) is committed to the future and offers valuable learning opportunities for young people at the start of their careers. We offer grant-assisted traineeships to junior staff from national and international industrial property offices. These placements offer technical training in specific areas of IP administration, with particular regard to trade marks and designs.
Details
They offer the opportunity to learn about our e-registration services, observe our management techniques and strategies and understand our databases and technical knowledge. Trainees also work in other specific areas of expertise such as human resources, communications or information technology.
Traineeships last for five months.
Selection procedure
Trainees will be selected from the national and international industrial property offices and other public bodies dealing with trade marks and designs and will be appointed 2 months before the start of their traineeship.
A traineeship agreement is drawn up between the President of the national industrial property offices and other public bodies and the Executive Director of the EUIPO via an exchange of written communication.
It specifies the training period, the department to which the trainee will be allocated and the exact nature of the training.
Who we are
The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) is the European Union (EU) agency responsible for managing EU trade marks (EUTMs) and registered designs at EU level (RCDs).
The EUIPO advocates for European and international cooperation in the field of intellectual property (IP), acting as a key facilitator to the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights, the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN), and an increasing number of EU-funded projects operated under contribution agreements with the European Commission.
The EUIPO plays a crucial role in protecting intellectual property throughout the single market, capitalising on European Union intellectual assets to boost the EU’s economic resilience as highlighted in the EU IP Action Plan.
