sTARTUp Pitching is the official pitching competition of sTARTUp Day. We are looking for early-stage to scale-up startups who want to raise funds. Preferred applicants have a strong mission and a scalable business model. Your startup should have a functioning product with traction/feedback, a strong team, and be ready for an investment.

About
sTARTUp Day 2024 is a three-day business festival with a marvelous stage program, effective matchmaking, hands-on seminars, a demo area full of innovation, and vibrant side events. The inspirational-educational program consisted of various topics – from mental health to space tech, founder stories to aviation, and deeptech to the creative economy.
We claim to be the most startup-minded business festival, but what does that mean? In short, it's a way of thinking. You don't need to be a startup to have a startup mindset! It's about focusing on growth, working smart, not hard, having a bias towards action, and perhaps most importantly, being adaptable in situations of uncertainty. Read more here.
In 2023, sTARTUp Day took place for the seventh time, bringing together over 180 world-class speakers, 319 startups, 140 investors, and 3900 attendees from 52 different countries all over the world. It’s a community-organized festival, organized by the city of Tartu, the University of Tartu, Tartu Science Park, Contriber, Tartu Biotechnology Park, Tartu Business Advisory Services, Tartu Centre for Creative Industries, Fractory, and Swedbank.
The international activities of sTARTUp Day 2024 introducing Tartu and Estonia as attractive tourism destinations for business and networking are supported by the European Regional Development Fund (30 000 euros for 1 event). We expect the participants of sTARTUp Day 2024 to feel inspired and have a better knowledge of building a business, and more companies to be started both in Tartu and in Estonia as a whole. In addition to that, sTARTUp Day 2024 will supposedly increase the number of tourists and brand Tartu as one of the most entrepreneurial cities in the region.
Technical details for TOP 40 startups pitching on the stage
All the teams will have 3 minutes for the pitch and 2 minutes for the questions. The working language is English. Slides are strongly recommended. All the TOP 40 teams will receive one free Startup ticket per team.

- Pitch training by David Beckett for Top 40 teams
- David is an acclaimed keynote speaker and pitch trainer who has coached over 1800 startups to make outstanding pitches and raise over €400 million in investment – and to win over €9 Million in prize money at pitching competitions. He is also the author of the book Pitch To Win and creator of The Pitch Canvas©.
- €3,000 equity-free cash from different organizations supporting Creative Industries
- The award of the Creative Industries' Pitching competition is organized by Tartu Centre for Creative Industries and several prizes will be given out to participants from different organizations supporting Creative industries. The main award, a 3,000-euro equity-free cash will be given to one of the teams to fund their growth.
- S2B Work Space for 3 months
- Tartu Science Park is giving three months of hot desk membership for three people in their newly opened S2B Work Space in the Delta Business Building. The winning startup will become a part of the sTARTUp Tartu community and have modern and ergonomic working conditions.
- Pitching training for TOP 40
