Work Visas in China

If you wish to take on regular employment in China as an expat, you may be required to secure a Chinese Visa Type Z. This type of visa is issued with a duration of ‘000’ that means the durations will be determined upon securing a Residence Permit. Once you already have this visa, you will have to enter China within 90 days and secure a Residence Permit to be allowed for multiple entry. You may be required the following documents upon your application:

  • Accomplished and signed Chinese Visa Application form that you may accomplish and download from this link.
  • A valid passport with remaining at least 12 months validity on the date of application and at least 2 blank pages for the visa.
  • Previous Chinese Visas if available.
  • 2 most recent photos taken within 6 months on the date of application, following the specifications of the Chinese visa that you may find in this link.
  • Notification of Work Permit to be issued by your future employer.

 

How to Apply:

  • Set an appointment online via this link.
  • Visit the Chinese Embassy near you, of which list you may find here.
  • Bringing all your printed and original documents, submit them to the consulate.
  • Pay the amount required for your type of Visa.
  • Wait to be notified of the visa’s date of release
