Internship Visa in Netherlands
EU or EEA Citizens do not need to secure a visa if they intend to work or get an internship in the Netherlands. However if you will be staying for more than 4 months, you are already obliged to register with the local municipality. If you are a third-country (non EU/EEA) you will have to apply for the relevant Schengen visa that will allow you to do an internship in the country. Your employer will have to secure you a combined work and residence permit to be able to proceed with your internship. The following documents may be asked of you:
- Invitation letter or an internship contract from the Netherlands company you will be visiting. The letter should contain their company name, address, accompanied by your dates and purpose of visit.
- Fully accomplished and signed Schengen Visa Application Form
- (2) Two pieces of identical photographs that are no older than three months and taken with consideration to the Schengen Visa Photograph Specifications
- Passport that contains at least two blank pages to be able to affix the Netherlands Visa sticker. Validity of the passport should be 3 months after the date of exit from Netherlands or Schengen territory. The passport should be no older than 10 years as well.
- Bring copies of your previous visa are available
- You will also need a cover letter where you will explain further details about your visit in the Netherlands
- A copy of your round-trip flight itinerary or a reservation ticket going home
- Schengen Travel Insurance copy of confirmation or proof of purchased insurance for travel in the Netherlands and the whole territory of Schengen, with minimum coverage of USD 35,800.
- Accommodation receipts or hotel confirmation that will show where you will stay in the Netherlands for the whole duration of your stay
- Proof of civil status, this may be a marriage certificate, birth certificate, or death certificate of spouse
- Proof of sufficient financial means that will cover your whole stay in the Netherlands
- You may also prepare your 6 months bank account statement as a supporting document
