CV Format in Singapore

There is not a specific template in creating a resume for your Singapore application. However, it is best that you still customize your document, depending on the job and company you are applying for. If the company who will interview you is predominantly Chinese, you may want to create a Mandarin version of your CV, otherwise, an English CV would work.

Below is a suggested format for a CV that you are to submit to your potential Singaporean employer:

Parts of CV

Content

Heading

This should reflect your name. A photo is not to be placed here unless required by your interviewer. A title for your document doesn’t necessarily have to appear here as well.

Personal Information

This section should contain your name, contact information, nationality, and sometimes your social media handles. This may also contain your professional statement, or a brief description about your professional career.

Professional Experience / Work History

In reverse chronological order, listing your most recent work first, indicate in this section your work experiences. It is required that you mention the years of your service in the institution and also the name of the company. It will also help if you can briefly describe the nature of the job you did for the organization.

Educational Background & Trainings Attended

In reverse chronological order, list down your educational background. You don’t have to list down everything from your early years in school. Instead include those that would help in justifying your knowledge obtained for your expertise.

Skill

Briefly, state and describe the skills that may post as your advantage over other applicants. This will help your interviewer to see if you are qualified for the position based on the skills you possess from previous jobs or from trainings attended.
