Details
Context:
Plastic Circular Economy department is part of the Axens Business Division New Development & transformation. It aims at launching new plastic recycling technologies, from the R&D development stage, industrialization up to the global commercialization of these technologies.
The intern will join the technology team of this department, which is in charge of developing the technologies and preparing technical proposals for clients willing to develop plastic recycling projects.
Among several technologies that Axens is developing in chemical plastic recycling, the intern will focus on the pyrolysis of waste plastics composed mainly by post-consumer packaging made of polyolefins (Polyethylene, polypropylene …)
Tasks and activities:
Her/his main tasks can be organized as follows:
Literature review:
- Search for relevant scientific and marketing publications on the pyrolysis technologies
- Identification of the latest development
- Patents study and competitive intelligence
- Write-up of synthesis document
Proposal Tools improvement
- Develop simulation tools using simulation software (Pro II / Hysys)
- Improve the proposal tools including preliminary equipment sizing, energy consumptions estimation, cost estimate…)
Technology Development
- Technical economical studies based on different configuration including new configurations identified during the literature review

Profile:
- Currently in your last year of engineer school specialized in Process/Chemical Engineering you are looking for a six months internship.
- Solid knowledge in simulation software (Pro II preferable). An experience in simulation would be appreciated (through projects or internships).
- Willing to contribute to the development of the plastic circular economy.
- Good English level is needed, (speaking and writing). Rigorous and proactive.
