About you and this role
We are looking for an ambitious master's student (m/f) to support our research in the Packaging & Specialty Plastics business (P&SP) through an internship project at our location in Tarragona, Spain or Wiesbaden, Germany. P&SP is committed to being innovative, inclusive, customer-centric, and sustainability-driven. We focus on developing new technologies and applications to deliver value growth while making a positive impact on society and the planet.
Responsibilities
You will work on complex, top-notch R&D innovation projects related to polyethylene, polyolefin elastomers functional ethylene copolymers, recycled materials and/or compounded products, with guidance from experienced supervisors and support from our organization. Your responsibilities will include performing a thorough literature review, setting the hypothesis and building the design of experiment, taking care of generating significant results, interpreting them and driving useful conclusions.

Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a master's degree or equivalent in engineering (chemical, materials and mechanical preferred), chemistry, or material science.
- Good working knowledge of English. (Knowledge of Spanish, German, Polish or French is a plus.)
- Laboratory experience including physical testing and/or extrusion is advantageous.

- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Critical thinking, troubleshooting, and organizational skills are desired.
- Enthusiastic, respectful of project deadlines, and a good team player.
- Passion for materials and polymer science, along with innovative ideas.

Duration
The internship is for 6-9 months, starting in the second half of 2025 with possible starting date between September and March (exact timing flexible and to be discussed). Based on performance during this internship a conversion into a permanent role in Dow will be explored taking into account your preferences & Dow’s needs.
