Overview

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (Minciencias) and the Fulbright Commission in Colombia join institutional and budgetary efforts to support the high-level training of Colombian professionals and researchers.

Details

This program is framed within one of the institutional strategic objectives of the Ministry, which seeks to enhance regional capacities of ST (Science and Technology) and innovation that promote social and economic development towards a more scientific Colombia. Additionally, this program is structured within the guidelines of the National Council for Economic and Social Policy 3981 of 2019 (CONPES, by its acronym in Spanish)

Training of Human Resources for National Research, whose general objective is “to strengthen the capacities of high-level human talent to conduct research with quality and impact that contributes to the economic, social and environmental development of the country and its regions through support for the training of doctors in doctoral programs abroad and the linkage of these to the National System of Science, Technology and Innovation (SNCTeI, by its acronym in Spanish)” and has among its specific objectives “to support the training of high-level human talent for the generation and transfer of high-impact scientific knowledge”. In particular, this call seeks to finance 100% forgivable educational credits for doctoral studies for Colombian professionals in universities in the United State.
