The Data Team at OVRSEA
OVRSEA operates with a lean, centralized data team that serves as the single source of truth for all company data - from production metrics to sales and financial information. The Data team's main objectives are to serve every team in the company and help them take data-driven decisions.This includes:
- Fostering Data culture: encouraging data consumption and literacy across the organization
 - Ensuring quality Data access: providing reliable data to everyone in the company
 - Breaking Data silos: implementing centralized Data Governance to establish single sources of truth for key business metrics
 - Building Data infrastructure: maintaining robust data pipelines and systems that enable scalable analyticsAt OVRSEA, the data team is a one-person team who manages the complete data pipeline with full-stack expertise - from data ingestion and transformation to directly supporting business users and collaborates closely with Data Champions - privileged interlocutors and data power users in other teams.
 
Your missions inside the Data Team
You'll work hand in hand with Marie-Sophie, Analytics Engineer at OVRSEA, and partner with Data Champions to gain comprehensive, real-world data experience.Your missions:
- Creating and Maintaining Data Models:
 - Building transformed, analytics-ready datasets using dbt and SQL
 - Ensuring models are well-documented, tested, and follow dbt best practices
 - Implementing data quality checks and monitoring
 - Enabling Data Self-Service:
 - Proactively identifying opportunities to create new data models that increase business team autonomy
 - Collaborating with Data Champions to understand team needs and translate them into actionable insights
 - Supporting data governance initiatives and maintaining single sources of truth
 - Maintaining our BI Platform (we are currently using Metabase):
 - Keeping dashboards organized, performant, and insightful
 - Monitoring performance and usage patterns
 - Providing technical support to business users
 - Scaling the Data Team’s Impact through Automation and AI:
 - Identifying repetitive or manual tasks within the data lifecycle and designing scalable automation solutions
 - Experimenting with and implementing AI-powered tools or agents to streamline data workflows (e.g., model documentation)

						Candidates should be from:

			Are you the one?
- Your are available for 6 months starting January 2026.
 - You are a student from a top business or engineering school (or equivalent). We value the intersection of technical and business expertise.
 - Excellent communication skills (technical and non-technical audiences)
 - Highly organized, rigorous, and autonomous- Familiarity with BI tools (Metabase, Tableau, or similar)
 - Basic development tools (Git, terminal, command line)- SQL proficiency and/or experience with dbt
 - Curiosity and strong desire to learn. You don't need to master all technical skills initially, but must have a strong willingness to learn.
 - Fluent in French and English (both written and spoken)
