Overview
This program provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to work throughout the summer in a laboratory at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute. Students will work on a project assigned to them by their laboratory supervisor gaining valuable experience and research skills.

Conditions of Summer Program: Students will be expected to complete a three (3) month period at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum and work full-time hours (37.5 hours per week). Students will work on a project assigned to them by their laboratory supervisor. In addition, students will be required to summarize their work in the form of a poster presentation at an event near the end of the summer.
Application Procedure: Prospective students must apply ONLINE and submit the following:

- Names and contact information of two (2) references (academic preferred)

The Research Training Centre (RTC) was established at the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute in 1996 to provide our trainees (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and summer students) with an exceptional research and learning environment.

Description of Ideal Candidate
Eligibility: Students must have completed, at the minimum, their second undergraduate year of a recognized university science program by May 2026.
We accept applications from countries around the world. However please note that if you are accepted into a laboratory position, you will be responsible for obtaining all necessary immigration documents (i.e. work permit, SIN) to legally work in Canada.
Selection Process: The summer student program is extremely competitive. Individual scientists select their own summer students; there is no centralized selection process. Please be aware that acceptances are made on a rolling basis.

Stipend: Students will be paid at an hourly rate of $17.60 + 4% vacation pay.
