Overview

The California Academy of Sciences is a renowned scientific and educational institution dedicated to exploring, explaining, and sustaining life on Earth. Based in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, it's the only place in the world to house an aquarium, planetarium, and natural history museum, as well as innovative programs in scientific research and education—all under one living roof.

Details

Welcome, prospective volunteers! The Volunteer Services department provides a connection between the diverse Bay Area community and our museum, research, and administration. All volunteers are part of the greater Academy community as we work to explore, explain, and sustain life on Earth.

Volunteers are encouraged to develop new skills and explore their personal interests, all while enabling the Academy to accomplish far more than staff would be able to do alone. Volunteering is also a great way to meet other people and connect with the local community.

Did you know studies also show that volunteering is great for your physical health and sense of well-being? What a great way to spend a few hours each week!
