Internship Visa in Australia
When international students want to do internships in Australia, take note that there was an Australia Internships Program approved by the country’s Department of Immigration and Border Protection. The type of visa is known as Subclass 407 visa.
Here’s a quick checklist before you apply for this Visa type:
- Online application form for Subclass 407
- Visa Application Charge
- A clear photocopy of your passport biodata page (the page with your photo), along with all stamped pages in your passport
- Your passport should be valid for the total period of your stay in Australia, or for a minimum of 6 months
- One recent passport sized photograph (45mmx35mm), no more than six months old, of you this should be of the head and shoulders only against a plain background. Print your name on the back of your photograph.
- Copy of your National Identification Card Evidence of family (copy of House Registration Certificate, family book, or similar)
- Bank statements ( within 6 months)
- A letter from your financial institution stating your financial position
- Employment contracts
- Documents showing allowances, accommodation, and stipends from your sponsor while you are in Australia
- If you are currently or were previously an AusAID or Foreign Affairs supported student provide a copy of the letter of support from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade
- If you are sponsored by an Australian Commonwealth Government agency, provide a copy of the invitation to participate in the training.
- If you are not sponsored by an Australian Commonwealth Government agency, provide a copy of the nomination approval letter or receipt for submitting the nomination application.
- Also, provide a copy of your qualifications and curriculum vitae (CV).
- If registrations or licenses are required for you to do the training, provide copies of registrations or licenses.
- You will need to provide evidence of adequate health insurance for you and your family members for the duration of your stay in Australia
- Provide evidence that you have functional English, check this link for tests you may take and documents you may submit to prove you have the language skills to undertake the training program.
- You do not need to provide these results if you hold a valid passport from the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, and The Republic of Ireland.
