CV Format in Qatar
Applying for a job in Qatar shares many similarities as with other countries. Once you find a potential job opportunity, you are to reach out to your employer and submit your CV. Your document will be your first representation to your hiring officer. It is important that you write your documents comprehensively and you keep its content relevant to the position you are applying for.
It recommended that you secure an Arabic version of your CV, should your employer require it. But it is also common for CVs to be submitted in English. See the suggested format of CV below:
Parts of your CV |
Content |
Heading |
The heading of your CV should reflect your full name on bigger fonts than the other texts, together with your photo on the upper corner of your document. |
Personal Information |
Besides your name that is part of the heading, personal information that would be expected from this section are your contact information, e-mail address, and current address. Do not put information like gender, nationality, or religion unless you were asked to. |
Professional Statement |
Your professional statement should present your career objectives, or a brief summary of the career path you’ve taken so far. You can take advantage of this portion, and mention qualities unique to you that may not be mentioned in the next sections. |
Professional Experience / Work History |
Your hiring officer will focus on this portion. In this part, you should indicate work experiences in reverse chronological order, stating the most recent work experience first. Note that you only need to indicate jobs that are relevant to the position you are applying for. Specify the previous positions you took and a brief description of your roles. |
Educational Background & Trainings Attended |
This portion may also separate you from competition. You may specify your most recent educational background and mention relevant achievements and awards you received. Should you have undergone training where you got skills that can help you in the position you are applying for, better mention it in the section. |
Skill |
This section is entirely subjective and may already be combined with the previous section. However, if you think you have particular skills that may appear as your competitive advantage over the others, you may state them here and give more details about how you can utilize this skill for the benefit of your company. |
