Act Like A Local in Russia

A true local in Russia would always use the metro to get around. Go ahead and know the metro ins and outs to be able to blend well in terms of transportation. Just be mindful not to smile at any stranger in a public transport as it will not be seen as pleasing for Russians.

One of the best ways to act like a local in a foreign country is to learn how locals eat. When you’re in Russia, try to get used to a three-course lunch, for it is how it’s done in the country. A usual lunch would include a salad, a hot soup, and a main course that would include meat and a side dish.

Don’t hesitate to dress up for any occasion. Russians will appreciate it if you skip your casual sneakers and jeans, and choose something a little formal for dinner in a restaurant or a friendly gathering. Anyway, it is usually cold outside so study how to layer your clothes well while still keeping it fancy with a dark suit.
