Overview

Are you interested in evaluating the socio-economic impact of science and technology on society? Do you want to help us understand the long-term value of CERN's research? Come and join CERN's Knowledge Transfer (KT) Group to support an ongoing study on the broad impact of CERN on society.

Details

Your responsibilities

The KT group seeks and realises opportunities for the application of CERN technologies and expertise beyond particle physics, to maximise the Organisation's impact on society, especially through industry.

This study aims to evaluate the impact of CERN over the past few decades across various areas, including innovation, procurement, education, skills, and more. You will work directly with the study coordinator, and your work will directly help us evaluate the value generated by CERN on society, beyond its mission in basic research.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and reviewing technical descriptions for specific impact studies.
  • Reviewing and cross-checking studies conducted by collaborators and external consultants.
  • Participating in the design and execution of impact surveys.
  • Supporting the study leader in liaising with experts from various domains (both within CERN and externally), as well as with external consultants and collaborators.
  • Developing supporting materials, including reports and presentations.

About us

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.

We are on a Quest. A Journey into discovery like no other. Bring your expertise to our unique work and develop your knowledge and skills at pace. Join world-class subject matter experts on unique projects, in a Quest for greater knowledge and deeper understanding.
