Details
Our 18-month trainee program starts every three months so you can be flexible when it comes to joining. The program consists of five core phases. An onboarding week gives you all the information you need to start our program. You can configure your training program specifically to your interests within your specialist field. First controlling? Then marketing? Off to the digital transformation office at a later date? Why not? It’s your choice.
Trainee program topics
Tailor your trainee program to your interests. Do you have a passion for technology, IT, marketing, legal affairs, or HR? With the Start up! program, you choose the specialist field that corresponds to your strengths and preferences.
- Public and Regulatory Affairs: In this area, you will develop communication strategies to represent corporate interests to the public and politicians. Your tasks include analyzing regulatory developments, preparing position papers, and maintaining contacts with decision-makers.
- Corporate Development/M&A: You will evaluate potential acquisitions and investments, prepare financial models, and implement market analyses. You will integrate new companies, optimize existing business units, and work closely with various departments to develop and implement growth strategies.
- In-house Consulting: You will optimize internal processes and structures. You will evaluate business processes, identify areas of improvement, and develop efficient solutions. Your tasks include workshops, project management, and implementing new strategies to achieve long-term changes in the Group.
- Technology and Innovation: Your tasks include researching and investigating technological trends, implementing innovation projects, and collaborating with partners. You will create prototypes, implement tests, and integrate new technologies in existing systems.
- Finance: You will prepare budgets, monitor income and expenses, analyze data, and prepare annual financial statements. You will also carry out audits and ensure compliance with legal requirements to contribute to the company’s financial stability.
- Human Resources: The focus here is the management of human resources. This includes recruiting and developing advanced training programs. You will implement HR strategies, promote a positive corporate culture, and ensure compliance with labor laws. Your goal is a motivated and high-performing team.
Program schedule
In the Start up! trainee program, you will be involved in various projects during the five phases of the program. These projects will not only familiarize you with Deutsche Telekom, they will also familiarize you with the technology and teams. We will provide you with a solid structure with training sessions, events, and the opportunity to contribute your own ideas. Benefit from the knowledge of others and learn from your own mentor.

- Attractive salary: You will start your career with us with trainee salary that is above the industry average. With a Bachelor’s degree: 64.000 euros, with a Master's degree: 67.000 euros, with a PhD degree: 70.000 euros (as per collective agreement, last revised October 2024).
