Overview

The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Operations Directorate (OPS) – Equity, Growth Capital and Project Finance Department (EGPF) – Advisory - Growth Capital Division (6-AGC), at its headquarters in Luxembourg: TRAINEE.

Details

Objective of the traineeship

The objective of the traineeship is to

  • Further develop an EU wide investor database
  • Draft important communication and promotion material for the Advisory - Growth Capital Division (AGC) division that will help the team to expand the portfolio of high quality advisory projects and horizontal activities.

Through the development of the investor database, AGC will be able to guide project promoters to additional sources of finance beyond the EIB.

Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of Division (and its Senior Advisors), you will be involved in, among others, the following tasks:

  • Identify and screen suitable EU cleantech companies (based on a set of agreed criteria) and collect relevant background data
  • Insert selected data in the database and ensure full functionality
  • Quality control
  • Drafting and preparation of presentation to various meetings
  • Review and development of marketing material, e.g. flyers and website
  • Digital archiving
  • Other similar tasks, where relevant with the main assigned activity

Description of Ideal Candidate

Academic qualifications and professional skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Studies or Law or other related discipline
  • Good quantitative/statistical skills
  • Experience/exposure to investment banking and investors would be a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office software, in particular Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and/or French. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
