Overview

Linnaeus-Palme is an exchange program for teaching staff and students at bachelor and masters level. The aim of the Linnaeus-Palme program is to raise the quality of higher education by integrating global perspective. The program offers three scholarships per year for students going from Mexico to Sweden and vice versa.

Conditions for Chalmers & GU students visiting México (Linneaus program)

  • Studies on bachelor or master level
  • Studies will be a combination of courses on advance level and research project (could be bachelor or master thesis project)
  • All teaching in English
  • Studies will be accounted for in a Swedish Master examination
  • Classes in Spanish available
  • Scholarships to cover airfair and extra costs:

SEK 26 800 for one semester of studies

  • Cost of living app. 50 % lower in Mexico
  • No tuition fee

Both Chalmers (engineering)  and GU (physics program) students can apply .

The Master of Science (Physics) at National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) focuses on training in fundamental and applied physics. It is structured through basic courses (Quantum Mechanic, Statistics Mechanic, Analytical Mechanic and Classical Electrodynamics). These courses are complemented with several special courses that serve the interests of student in a range of fields that go from medical physics through to Plasma Physics, including complexity, Non-Linear systems, Electronic and advanced instrumentation, particle physics, statistical mechanics, molecular physics and others. 

Conditions for UNAM students visiting Sweden (Palme program)

  • Maximum Financial support of SEK 56 000 to cover air fair, housing and cost of living (for 20 weeks)
  • No tuition fee
  • Medical insurance covered by University of Gothenburg
  • Studies award credit for your degree at UNAM
  • 20 or 40 weeks duration
  • Combination of physics courses and research projects
  • All teaching in English

The master programs in Gothenburg is run jointly between University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Chalmers.

Scholars will be enrolled  at University of Gothenburg (but exactly the same courses are available).

A student will study one or two semester out of the two years program. Studies will consist of a project and course work. You can select course from first or second year depending on your level and interest.
A full year of studies correspond to 60 credits. We recommend that you work on a project for 30 credits and courses corresponding to 30 credits.
