Details
This is a unique opportunity for current and recent college graduates to gain skills and knowledge in supporting the day-to-day operations of a marketing team. The Marketing and Brand Strategy Intern works closely with the Marketing Manager, developing marketing plans, securing brand partnerships, and crafting text and collateral to tell the stories behind our products and of the women who craft them. This position can be completed from our New York or Guatemala offices or remotely. Please indicate your preferred location in your application.
This position requires a minimum commitment of 3 months and can be either full or part-time with a minimum work week of 15 hours. Start dates are flexible. Unpaid but academic credit is available if the intern is a current student.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with:
- Social Media Management: image sourcing, content creation
- Assisting with press strategy: drafting press releases, updating press lists.
- Crafting compelling copy that can be utilized across key brand tools.
- Assist with the development of sales tools, including linesheets, e-pitches, product & collection descriptions, and other collateral materials.
- Research and SWAT analysis of competitor brands.
- Assist with post campaign analysis reports.
- Recording insights and analytics and to drive and improve strategy.

Key Requirements
- Strong interest in branding, strategy, and marketing required
- Self-motivated and highly organized with great attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Polished and professional demeanor
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word and Excel
- Enthusiasm for Mercado Global's mission and products
- Working towards or College Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Public relations a plus
