RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities

Assisting in maintaining, controlling and administering customer/supplier/bank accounts.

Performing tasks in line with the Agency’s prescriptive documentation and internal control Framework.

Assisting in recording accounting transactions in SAP.
-
Assisting in conducting periodical and year-end reconciliations of the financial accounting records.
-
Assisting in the coordination of financial tasks (e.g. reports, documents) with the Material Management Centres (MMCs).

Working in other Finance sections as required.

Organising and maintaining the filing system and the section general correspondence.

Coordinating with Programme Offices and Divisions (PODs) on a day-to-day basis as required.

The employee may be required to perform a similar range of duties elsewhere within the organisation at the same grade without there being any change to the contract.

Executing other related tasks as required in peacetime and any other appropriate tasks assigned in times of crisis or war.

In the event of crisis or war the incumbent will, subject to the agreement of their national authorities, remain in the service of the Agency.
Specific Responsibilities
- Reconciling sub ledger account balances with the related general ledger account balances and verifying that all account balances are justified and accurate.
- Assisting in producing periodic and ad-hoc reports, and supporting year-end consolidated financial statements preparation.
- Assisting in maintaining up-to-date financial accounting, including monitoring, controlling and administering customer/vendor accounts, in accordance with relevant Operating Instructions (OIs) and Procedures (OPs).
- Controlling and maintaining customer/vendor/bank accounts Master Data.
- Assisting in preparing financial correspondence, presentations, reports, database queries and statistics as
- required.
- Other ad-hoc tasks suitable for the level of responsibility.

Description of Ideal Candidate
- Secondary education and 3 years' post-related experience, or an equivalent education combined with an appropriate amount of relevant, professional experience; or University degree in Finance.
- Working synergistically and in harmony with other team members as well as independently.
- Willing to learn new skills and develop further existing skills to improve work performance.
- Sense of responsibility to ensure tasks are completed on time and meet the expected standards.
- Demonstrated flexibility and practical approaches to executing assigned work based on finance management requirements.
- Ability and willingness to work in a multi-functional organisation.
- NATO's official languages are English and French. The work of this post requires fluency in English, while working knowledge of French is desirable.
