Internship Visa in Brasil

Although a visa-free regime has been implemented by the Brazilian Government since June 17, 2019, where over 93 countries may visit Brazil free of visa, you may still need to apply for a specific type of visa if you are a student who will work as an intern in Brazil. The type of visa is VITEM IV. This type of visa requires that your internship is not paid and will only last for 120 days, otherwise, please refer to the work visa below. 

Bilateral agreements with most countries in the world have made it easy to secure a visa in Brazil. You may check on this link if your country is visa-exempt and may just need to apply online. Prepare a clear scanned copy of the following documents for it may be asked during your online application:

  • Fully accomplished and signed Visa Application Form.
  • 2 x 2 Photographs that are no older than three months and taken with consideration to the ICAO Standards.
  • Passport that contains at least one blank page to be able to affix the Brazilian Visa upon entry. Validity of the passport should be at least 3 months after the date of exit from Brazil. The passport should be no older than 10 years as well.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means that will cover your whole stay in Brazil, and your return ticket.
  • Invitation letter from where you will get the internship.

 

To Apply:

  1. Once you have applied online, print the receipt at the end of the online application and collate your original documents together with the receipt.
  2. Visit the Brazilian consulate near you and submit your signed original documents and receipts to the consular agent.
  3. After processing your documents, the consular agent will inform you about payment procedures and the delivery of your request.
