Act Like A Local in Italy
To blend well with your Italian friends, try to be artistic and colorful with your clothing. You may notice that locals don’t skip on matching a lively bright-colored clothing or accessory in their outfit when wearing a neutral-colored trousers or shirt. Put on your stylish dresses when going around or you may want to match your light colored shirts with khakis or casual trousers.
Locals often use cash in their transactions. This is because most establishments don’t accept cards. Transact like a local and always try to bring enough cash when going around the country. Also, when visiting iconic places, skip the lines and always get your ticket online. A local in Italy is noticeable by not spending too much in lines buying tickets for transportation or museums since almost all of it is available for purchase online.
Italian dining is quite late than usual. Don’t order your coffee until it’s 11am. Locals get their coffee past 11am and dinner doesn’t start until 8pm. If you want to act like a local, take note of the time when people eat, otherwise, you’ll find it strange that cafes are empty by 6 PM or 7 PM.
