CV Format in Italy

When you are ready to take on the challenge of applying for a job in Italy, one of the first documents you should prepare is your Curriculum Vitae. This document is the first to represent you in the initial shortlisting of applicants that will be invited for an interview. Although there is a general format of Curriculum Vitae all across the globe, it is best that you customize your document according to the common standards in Italy.

Even if you are applying for a multinational company in Italy, it is best not to assume that your interviewer is comfortable in reading an English document, thus, customize an Italian version of your curriculum vitae and consider the tips below in drafting it.

Parts of your CV	Content
Heading	Your employers will expect that you put a photo on the heading of your resume. Take note to make its size visible enough for your employers.
Personal Information	This should contain your full name, contact details with international dialing codes, email address, and nationality. You may also state here the languages you speak, and if you do speak Italian, it would be a plus in mentioning it.
Professional Experience / Work History	Your employers will scrutinize this part more than the others, make sure you have a consistent structure that includes your job title, the name of your employer, dates of involvement, a brief discussion of your job description and the achievements you were able to get if there is any. The list should be done with the most recent job at the top. Make sure to keep it simple and relevant to the nature of the work you are applying for.
Educational Background & Trainings Attended	List down your educational attainments or diplomas in reverse chronological order and there school where you took your degree. You may also include here overseas education and conferences that you’ve attended, from which you acquired or have been trained with skills helpful for the position being offered.
