Details

This year we will largely recruit for training contract 2025 from our vacation schemes. Any spaces that are available after the vacation schemes will be filled by direct training contract applicants. This direct training contract process will open in July 2023, only to the extent there remain any available spaces after our winter and summer vacation schemes. Any updates will be available on our website and social media channels.

The direct training contract is a three stage process. Your first interview will be held virtually with a graduate recruitment partner or senior counsel. If you are successful you will be asked to complete two written assessments over the course of two weeks. If you are selected to attend a second interview this will be held with two further graduate recruitment partners and/or senior counsel at our London office.

We will pay your tuition fees while you study for the Graduate Diploma in Law (if applicable) and the Legal Practice Course. We also make a contribution towards your living expenses of £10,000 per year which is paid in instalments at the beginning of each term.

About us

We recognise that our market-leading, award-winning position is achieved when we hire, develop and encourage our people to be the best they can be. Providing the very highest quality of service to our clients becomes the norm when we are each encouraged to achieve professional fulfilment in a supportive, inclusive and enjoyable working environment. The firm understands that each one of us is different. We value and respect these individual differences, not only in relation to gender, ethnicity, disability, age, sexual orientation and faith, but also in terms of background, education, working style and family or care responsibilities. We are committed to leveraging these differences to achieve true excellence and to better serve our clients and communities. We are also convinced that creating an inclusive environment where all our people feel valued and able to bring their differences to work every day creates a more stimulating and rewarding environment in which to work. We are delighted we are an accredited Living Wage Employer. This means that every member of staff working for the firm will earn a real Living Wage and it also means that we are actively supporting a movement that has benefited hundreds of thousands of families by enabling them to earn a wage they can live on.

Whatever your role, we will provide you with the support, management and training opportunities you need to reach your full potential and ambitions.

The firm is currently accredited under Level 2 of the Government's Disability Confident employer regime. As a result, where candidates tell us they have a disability and meet the minimum criteria for the role, they will be invited to interview.
