Work Visas in Taiwan

If you are deciding to land a job in Taiwan, you must know that the country allows job seekers to apply for a visa for purposes of job hunting, they call it the Employment-Seeking Visa. This type of visa allows a foreigner to stay in Taiwan for up to 6 months, in search of a job. Although several visa-exempt countries that may be found in this link make use of their 90 days visa-free entry in the country to find a work, getting at least 6 months allowance would give you more chances of landing your ideal job. Check out the requirements below:

  • An accomplished online application form that may be accessed through this link
  • Two passport-sized photo taken within 6 months prior to application, and with white background
  • Original and photocopies of your passport, valid up to 6 months  after your visa expiration date, with at least 2 blank pages
  • Completed and signed ROC Employment-Seeking Visa Application Checklist that may be found in this link
  • Proof of employment experience with an average monthly wage now lower than USD1,723.25 in the past six months
  • Graduated within the past year from any of the world’s top 500 universities as declared by the ROC Ministry of Education
  • Proof of sufficient financial resources not lower than USD 3592.92
  • Proof of health and medical insurance with coverage in Taiwan, for the entire duration applied for
  • Certificate of good conduct
  • Plan for seeking employment
  • Other requirements that may be asked to further support your application

 

To Apply for an Employment-Seeking Visa:

  • Print your accomplished online application form and gather it together with your other documents.
  • Pay the necessary fees that may be found in this link.
  • Submit all your documents and receipt of payment to the Taiwanese Consulate near your location. You may check this link for addresses of Taiwanese Consulates abroad.

Note: Once you’ve already found a job, your employer will be the one to apply for your Taiwan Work Permit which they will have to do online through this link. Once your Taiwan work permit as already been approved, you may now apply for a Taiwan Work Visa by preparing the following documents and following the instructions below:

  • An accomplished online application form that may be accessed through this link
  • Two passport-sized photo taken within 6 months prior to application, and with white background
  • Original and photocopies of your passport, valid up to 6 months  after your visa expiration date, with at least 2 blank pages
  • The Taiwan Work Permit applied for by your employer
  • Proof of health and medical insurance with coverage in Taiwan, for the entire duration applied for
